Rush

Rush is a Canadian rock band that was formed in the year 1968 and debuted on the music industry with a self titled album in 1974. The group is into heavy metal rock, progressive rock, hard rock as well as some music that is dominated by synthesizers. In Canada the rock band has won some Juno Awards. They were introduced into the Music Hall of Fame, Canada in 1994. Individually the band members are gurus in the respective instruments they play, winning several awards in magazines including some accolades. The group has 24 gold, 14 platinum and 3 multiplatinum records under its sleeve. The group has been placed fourth by the RIAA in a list that is topped by the Beatles, Aerosmith and Rolling Stones for the most consecutive platinum o gold albums by any rock band. In the US the band ranks number 79 with album sells of over 25 million units.

The band consists of the following members;

Geddy Lee an award winning musician with vocals that became a signature of the band. The artist is also very good on the bass guitar with which he has inspired a good number of players like Metallica, Cliff Burton and Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. Geddy is also known to play a variety of instruments with superb coordination. The artist is able to lead the vocals and at the same time play the bass guitar, key board and trigger foot pedals in a single performance.

Alex Lifeson an amazing guitarist. The guitarist gets his influence from legend guitarist Jimi Handrix and the likes of Eric Clapton. Alex has been able to incorporate into Rush's music some Spanish and classical touches to the guitar sound that brought the band to fame in the 70's. In the 90's it was Lifeson's guitar sounds that were at the forefront of the band's music making him an important part of the band.

Neil Pert an amazing drummer who plays electric drums as well as acoustic percussion. The drummer has gained worldwide recognition winning some awards with magazines who have also given the artist some high reviews.

When put together the trio makes the band Rush which has since the 70's been a formidable force in the music industry. The band has for ages been delivering to fans some electrifying entertainment that gets to the spine. The band is reported to be working on some new material and they will soon be touring this summer on a tour called the 'Time Machine Tour'.
